چکیده

Combining a sterically bulky, electron-deficient 2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-4-(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)pyridine (dFMesppy) cyclometalating C4N ligand with an electron rich, highly rigidified 1,10-(a,a0-o-xylylene)-2,20biimidazole (o-xylbiim) N4N ligand gives an iridium complex, [Ir(dFMesppy)2(o-xylbiim)](PF6), that achieves extraordinarily bright blue emission (FPL = 90%; lmax = 459 nm in MeCN) for a cationic iridium complex. This complex is compared with two reference complexes bearing 4,40-di-tert-butyl-2,20-bipyridine, and solutionprocessed organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) have been fabricated from these materials.

Green Phosphorescence and Electroluminescence of Sulfur Pentafluoride-Functionalized Cationic Iridium(III) Complexes.

We report on four cationic iridium(III) complexes [Ir(C^N)2(dtBubpy)](PF6) that have sulfur pentafluoride-modified 1-phenylpyrazole and 2-phenylpyridine cyclometalating (C^N) ligands (dtBubpy = 4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bipyridyl). Three of the complexes were characterized by single-crystal X-ray structure analysis. In cyclic voltammetry, the complexes undergo reversible oxidation of iridium(III)...

Novel Design of Iridium Phosphors with Pyridinylphosphinate Ligands for High-Efficiency Blue Organic Light-emitting Diodes

Due to the high quantum efficiency and wide scope of emission colors, iridium (Ir) (III) complexes have been widely applied as guest materials for OLEDs (organic light-emitting diodes). Contrary to well-developed Ir(III)-based red and green phosphorescent complexes, the efficient blue emitters are rare reported. Like the development of the LED, the absence of efficient and stable blue materials...

Novel, highly efficient blue-emitting heteroleptic iridium(III) complexes based on fluorinated 1,3,4-oxadiazole: tuning to blue by dithiolate ancillary ligands.

Novel blue-emitting phosphorescent iridium(III) complexes with fluorinated 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives as cyclometalated ligands and dithiolates as ancillary ligands have been synthesized and fully characterized; highly efficient OLEDs have been achieved using these complexes in the light-blue to blue-emitting region.

Phosphorescent cyclometalated complexes for efficient blue organic light-emitting diodes

Phosphorescent emitters are extremely important for efficient organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), which attract significant attention. Phosphorescent emitters, which have a high phosphorescence quantum yield at room temperature, typically contain a heavy metal such as iridium and have been reported to emit blue, green and red light. In particular, the blue cyclometalated complexes with high ...
